Join Sitka Sound Science Center’s summer research interns Lindsey Critser and Cecelia Hosley for a public talk about their work developing a long-term monitoring protocol for local shellfish populations, Wednesday evening at 6pm at the Sitka Public Library. During their 6 weeks in Sitka, Lindsey and Cece worked under the mentorship of SSSC Research Biologist Lauren Bell and alongside Sitka Tribe of Alaska Environmental Lab staff to survey Starrigavan Beach, an important subsistence shellfish harvesting site. During their presentation, they will discuss the results of their research as well as share their experience attending school at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
