The Sitka Sound Science Center, housed in the historic Sage Memorial Building, offers a wealth of opportunities for visitors, students, and researchers. The SSSC Molly O. Ahlgren Aquarium, touchtanks, and the Sheldon Jackson Hatchery are open for visitors regularly, and are a fantastic place for the public to learn, have fun, and see new things. SSSC also has a Gift Shop and delicious Chowder Cart by Ludvig’s Bistro in the adjacent historic Mill Building in the summer months, as well as an online gift shop year round. Additionally SSSC offers rentals of facilities, from an apartment and bench space to the entire Sage Building. Lastly, the SSSC has a small research library to support visiting scientists, field course students, and others.
